Mid-Bay Bridge Rotarians honored Roma
Shipley, Rotary partner of Bruce Shipley, with a Paul Harris Fellow. This
honor was based on Roma’s participation as a “behind the scenes”
contributor to her husband and to Mid-Bay Rotary. As a background: Bruce
and Roma have been married 48 years, Bruce has been a Rotarian for 23
years, a club president, and a Paul Harris Fellow for 15 years.
Throughout Bruce’s Rotary life, Roma has been a staunch supporter of
Rotary. Since Bruce has Muscular Dystrophy, Roma has been instrumental in
Bruce’s ability to continue as an active Rotarian. As a result, Roma has
become even more of a Rotary partner. She assists with the publication of
Mid-Bay’s weekly bulletin, she drives Bruce to every meeting and/or
Mid-Bay activities to ensure Bruce’s participation, and is always
available to assist Bruce and Mid-Bay in anyway possible. Roma epitomizes
the Rotarian creed, “Service above Self.” As a result, the Mid-Bay Bridge
Rotary Club was honored to award her a Paul Harris Fellowship. |
